Champion has a rich history of Innovating for Athletes since 1919, see : Reverse Weave, the Sports Bra, Mesh Cooling. This Innovation Initiative began with the opportunity to explore a proprietary fabrication with superior wind resistance, water resistance, and thermodynamic properties. Why this one? Visible Texture and Differntiation from our other (flat) fleece platforms. Ultimately, it allowed us the opportunity to customize weave structure, colors, and content for a textured warmth performance fleece to serve our professional athletes, the Premier Lacrosse League.

Leading Project Management, Design, and Development on this project and working with our Insights team to timeline prototype wear tests on our athletes was a great experience. More of the journey below.
