Our Chief Sustainability Officer first introduced me to Lisa & Mark Litos, of Refried Apparel, an incredible upcycling facility out of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Together, we established Champion’s first upcycle capsule and business stream selling out in less than a week and attracting scalable wholesale partner interest.

Preparing Labeling and Packaging for a capsule of one-of-a-kind garments has its challenges. How do you identify the fiber content on goods made from assorted items? After thorough and lengthy review with legal and compliance teams, we identified a solution and secured a greenlight for the inaugural product capsule.

Where others see “waste” we see opportunity. To celebrate the initiative and the greater mission of championing creatives worldwide, we boxed up leftover emblems, fabric gems, and other goodies from the design office, what others might call “textile waste” and sent them to as many authentic, passionate, upcyclers we could find. No questions asked, just a nod of gratitude for the work they do and the beauty of their craft.
